On the west coast of Norway, one of the most gender equal countries in the world, you’ll find the historic city of Bergen. With it’s astonishing nature, and beautiful architecture, this historic Hanseatic city was voted the second most beautiful city in Europe by the readers of US Today in 2013.
But what makes Bergen so special? Is it because it’s the “gateway to the fjords”? Is it Bergen’s historic wharf, Bryggen, and the city’s architecture with surrounding fjords and beautiful mountains? Or is it the fact that the city is a designated UNESCO World Heritage site and a popular port for cruise ships?
